Contract Terms and Conditions

Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative, Inc., and

hereby mutually agree as follows:

1.) The subscriber acknowledges that he/she understands and agrees to abide by the terms and conditions of the service agreement.

a.) The service agreement shall be $2.50 per month per water heater and covers servicing of the water heater during PCEC business hours. After the initial minimum (3) three-year term, the agreement shall automatically be renewed on a monthly basis until terminated by either party.
A 15-day waiting period from the date of a new service contract does apply.

b.) Payments will be billed on the subscriber's regular monthly electric bill and shall be due upon the same date as the bill for electric service. Should a customer move to another home within the PCEC service area prior to the term date, the subscriber may transfer the service agreement to the new location for the remaining period, or pay the un-billed balance. If subscriber cancels before the end of the initial period, he/she will be responsible for the remaining amount due for that agreement period.

c.) PCEC is not responsible for the replacement of leaking pressure relief valves caused by household water pressure and/or backflow prevention valves at the water meter. Subscriber is responsible for the cost and installation of an expansion tank or pressure regulator if needed. Please refer to the following pdf for additional information - Temperature Pressure Relief Valves (TPR).

d.) Subscriber agrees to pay normal rates for a service call if subscriber requests service and failure is due to misuse or abuse of the water heater or the problem is not directly related to the operation or failure of the water heater or energy management switch or when no defect is found by a PCEC authorized technician.

e.) Service includes replacement of parts, tank and labor costs. It does not include adjustment of thermostats or relocation of the water heater or additional electrical and plumbing if requested. Subscriber is responsible for replacement of any existing tank wrap or insulation.

2.) The subscriber agrees to pay to PCEC the three-year total sum of $90.00 (ninety dollars) in addition to the amounts currently being paid to PCEC for services rendered, in accordance with the terms of the agreement between the parties referred to above.

3.) The subscriber agrees to participate in the Energy Management Program by allowing PCEC to install, service and maintain a load peaking device which may be located inside or outside the home for peak occurrences.
