A U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) program since 1992, the Energy Star program is designed to help the public save money and the environment by using energy efficient products and to develop energy efficient practices.
The two government agencies have determined that families can save about a third on their energy bill and reduce greenhouse gases by about a third by making energy efficient choices.
